Behind The Name: The Spring House

Where business meets relaxation: the ultimate corporate retreat experience in Alabama

More than a century ago, mineral-rich Sulphur springs flowed abundantly through the southern tip of Talladega county. Legends passed down from Native American Indian tribes believed these springs had natural healing properties that could restore the body from a sundry of ailments. Even in 1812, soldiers from General Andrew Jackson’s Tennessee Army discovered the Sulphur springs that trickled down the side of Chalybeate and Sulphur Mountain and settled a town centered around these springs.

The town of Talladega Springs sprung up as a result of these springs. Residents of Talladega Springs built a small pavilion and an in-ground concrete basin that became known as The Spring House. Visitors from all over the country flocked to these waters to bathe, bask or drink from the pooled spring water to cure their ailments.

These tales and legends inspired the name of our boutique spa, The Spring House.
