With more than 3,200 acres of rolling hills, oak and pine forests, native grasses, and fertile plantation land, our sporting amenities mingle a richness of antebellum tradition with a modern touch of design and class. ORVIS® at Pursell Farms has created a highly experiential shooting grounds that are sure to deliver an unparalleled sporting experience.
Sporting clays is one of the fastest growing sports in the Southeast. In fact, Orvis was responsible for introducing one of the first prototype sporting clays shooting courses at its shooting school in Manchester, Vermont.
Orvis hosts many outdoor enthusiasts who are in pursuit of an excellent clay shooting experience. The Pursell Farms shooting course is designed within the scenic rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, and with the avid wingshooter in mind. The sporting clays course at the base of Chalybeate Mountain is a diverse combination of open fields and a natural canopy of southeastern hardwoods. Our course offers 16 uniquely designed stations which have been created to simulate a variety of true field shots from different hunting scenarios.

Recreation and leisure activities
Experience The Farm with a relaxing cruise around property in an E-Z-GO golf cart. Check-out at The Inn on a first come, first serve basis.
$40 per cart for 2 hours.

Cruise around the property effortlessly with our electric bikes, reaching speeds up to 20 mph. Available on a first-come, first-serve basis at The Inn.
$25 per bike, per hour.
Pedal across moderate terrain on our bike paths, taking in sights from Jimmy’s lake to mountain views. A great way to stay in shape while enjoying The Farm.
Enjoy scenic farm views on our nearby trails, within walking distance of The Inn.
Play bocce ball outside The Inn for a round of friendly competition. Complimentary for all guests.
Relax by the pool on the sun deck with views of Hole No. 18. Complimentary access for all guests. No lifeguard on duty.
Stay in shape at our new fitness center at The Inn. Featuring treadmills, ellipticals, and weights. Complimentary for all guests.
