Fly Fishing
The Orvis Shooting Grounds at Pursell Farms also features a comprehensive fly-fishing school program based on the highly successful lesson format developed and refined over fifty years at our Vermont headquarters.
Expert Orvis fishing instructors will teach you multiple fly casting techniques, the essential fishing knots, equipment basics, and how to choose the right flies. This school will primarily focus on warmwater species such as bass and sunfish, but the casting you learn in the school can be utilized in any other fly-fishing scenario. At the conclusion of the program you will be able to fly cast with authority and fish confidently. The fly fishing school tuition includes instruction, lunches, textbook, and use of Orvis tackle.

Experience The Farm with a relaxing cruise around property in an E-Z-GO golf cart. Check-out at The Inn on a first come, first serve basis.
$40 per cart for 2 hours.

Pedal Boating Now Available! All guests staying at The Farm receive a complimentary hour of pedal boating included in their resort fee. Enjoy the serenity of Lake Christine while gently burning a few throw-away calories. Boats can handle up to 5 guests per boat.
Let these electric bikes do the work for you as you cruise and zip around the property! With speeds up to 20 mph, you can bike effortlessly over hills and roads or take a more leisurely ride and pedal yourself. Check-out at The Inn on a first come, first serve basis.

Pedal across moderate terrain on our bike paths as you take in the sights of The Farm. From the pristine waters at Jimmy’s lake to sweeping mountain views, biking offers a great option to stay in shape while enjoying the surrounding nature. Trail maps are available at the front desk.
