On The Course Sign Trail of Research & Interesting Agronomic Activity

FarmLinks is home to the world’s only research and demonstration golf course. Each year from 2003 to 2006, over 1,000 golf course superintendents visited Pursell Farms to learn about the latest and greatest in turf grass technology and best practices. This program was know as in the industry as, “The Experience” and superintendents from many highly rated golf courses including the nations Top 100 have come here to The Farm to learn and improve what they do. During your round, you may notice an areas that are either roped off for research, GUR (Ground Under Repair) or denoted as needing special attention. Some of these areas will be marked with a QR sign. Each sign has an agronomic activity tied to it. This web page will provide explanations on what is going on in those areas so that you can be informed as well as offered insight in to the inner-workings of highly technical golf course agronomic and maintenance practices. With this webpage, you can get a small sample of the “behind the scenes” of golf and you might even be able to pick up a few tips to take back with you try on your lawn or in your backyard.
