First and foremost, she is a mother to her 7 year old son. She is also a small business owner, and a Realtor. Kassie’s inspiration and love for flowers started at a young age when her and her grandmother would fill jelly jars with camellias and knock out roses. Kassie loves being able to bring the outside in and use it creatively. Kassie’s passion for flowers developed into a small floral design business where she specializes in weddings and special events, providing her clients with bespoke florals to help celebrate their biggest life events. Since starting her floral design business Kassie was chosen to decorate the White House for Christmas in 2020, and she worked alongside the Secretary of the Army’s wife to promote military spouse owned businesses.
Her floral arrangements have been in 200+ weddings and events all across the southeastern United States, in addition to that, her work has been in several publications.

Kassie’s passion is creating community and connecting with others, and she uses floral workshops as a way to bring people together. She believes flowers begin conversation, which will lead to connection, and then into community, and through that God can do amazing things! Lucy Farmer

I live in Birmingham, Alabama with my husband of 2 years. We have two children who have flown the coop and given me more time to pursue my passion of helping women be who God created them to be.
I started my career in retail as a buyer for a department store called Parisian. I’ve been on both sides of the retail world when I owned a storefront selling art supplies.

As social media came to the business world I decided to help others grow their presence and as the VP of Marketing for an advertising agency, I helped create many stories on social media and websites.
Having a bit of a creative side myself, I designed a line of jewelry that I took to market and sold to stores all over the nation creating a 6 figure business within the year and still sell a line called Inspire to Give where we give back to non-profits that I care deeply about.
A creative freedom was sparked in me this year and I am excited to be hosting workshops in my in-home studio, The Inspired Studio.

You’ll learn that I love to travel around the world learning about different cultures and finding art old and new. I also have Vitiligo, a skin condition that removes the pigment and leaves white patches. It’s been spreading for about 4 years and I like to call it shifting clouds. It’s my own personal artwork that I carry around wherever I go!

Thoughts from the recent Hearts of Rest Retreat 2022

I attended the Hearts of Rest Retreat this year for the first time.  Having recently retired, I was looking forward to a girl’s getaway with my 2 sisters, but quietly I was praying my heart would be open to what God would reveal to me over these two days. The planned creative activities offered something for everyone; even for those of us who are not very creative. The real joy for me came from creating friendships around the table with women from all walks of life, both young and old, who I did not know before the retreat. We laughed together, shared together, and had fun creating together around our tables. Since my retirement, people are quick to ask me “what are you going to do next?” … Carol Bevil spoke very candidly to us during the weekend, the message was clear and simple: WE ARE CALLED TO KNOW JESUS AND MAKE HIM KNOWN”. With that message as our guide, everything else will fall into place, at the right time, God’s time. Therefore, “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ”. Philippians 1:6.

—Laurie Slay

I had the opportunity to attend Hearts of Rest for the first time this year with a sweet friend. Having never heard of it I was excited for something new but also nervous not knowing what to expect. After a very challenging year, I was physically and emotionally tired. … Little did I know what our God was going to do over one weekend with a group of women, then strangers, now friends. You see, my soul was also tired. Weary. The Lord knew that joining together with other women, other believers, from ALL walks of life, surrounded by His beautiful creation, together in prayer, worship, hearing the Word of God, sharing meals and stories, LOTS of laughing (and maybe a “few” tears) is exactly what was needed. I left feeling lighter, refreshed, hopeful. I left having been reminded that our purpose, as believers, is to Know Jesus and make Him Known. What an incredible honor! Hearts of Rest was an experience that I will forever hold close to my heart and never forget. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

—Jamie Parker

Hearts of Rest truly exceeded my expectations. I left the weekend feeling like I was surrounded by a wonderful community of women that poured words of wisdom and grace into my soul. To be surrounded by this community of grace-filled women that listen, pray, support and encourage was so inspiring and such a precious gift from God. The staff at Pursell Farms provided unparalleled Southern hospitality and the setting offers a peace that we often don’t realize we need. I came away with many new friendships that I can’t wait to see bloom.
