The Orvis FarmHouse

Built in 1830, The Orvis Farm House is the oldest home on the Pursell Farms property.  Over the years the beautiful, rustic walls have been home to many folks and Pursell Family members.

As newlyweds, David and Ellen Pursell started their family in this home and enjoyed her timeless beauty for many years. Most recently, with our new partnership with Orvis, the Farm House was used as the Orvis Shooting Grounds at Pursell Farms, welcome center and headquarters.  Orvis has now moved their operations to their new clubhouse, located at the heart of the property.

Today, you will find the Orvis Farm House, restored with gracious details, exposed hand hewn timbers and beautifully appointed, with 19th century textiles and antiques.

For a truly memorable experience of a bygone era, we invite you to come and enjoy our Southern hospitality and a little bit of the colonial South.
